It was a fine day, the weather was good and the morning breeze felt just nice. The traffic was just nice because it was already 10am in the morning and there wasn’t anymore reason for congestion since everyone should have reached their workplace. And it’s even too early to do shopping. So I was happily cruising down the highway while laughing evilly in my heart since everyone needs to work today but not me. I’m taking a day off today and some more, it’s a public holiday tomorrow. The feeling was like, having 2 weekends in the same week.
And then suddenly, the car in front of me made an emergency break. I was thinking of cursing him because I hate people disrupting my ride out of a sudden without reason. But before I can even do that, the sight of my rear mirror caught my attention. An object was moving towards me and it’s getting bigger and bigger in my mirror. The size of the object was like increasing ten folds in a second and before I can actually decide on what to do, it was too late. It started with a bang, and it felt like someone giving you a friendly knock on your back. It’s painless.
I was outside of the car, no injuries, nothing. And the first thing I did was to check my car and see how serious the friendly knock was. And the guy who gave me that memorable bang was out of his car too. His mouth was bleeding, and I think he was saved by the air bag of his car. Now this is the first time I got to see air bag in real. I thought it will only appear in movies. And if it’s not because of that, he will definitely knock his teeth off. And my guess was he didn’t even try hitting the break.
But I didn’t scold or yell at him. I calmed myself down and asked whether if he’s alright. So both of us were exchanging information from each other in the middle of the road with everyone looking at us. Yes we were like, on stage. We were the center of attention. Well maybe what goes around comes around. I hit someone’s car before back then, and it’s my turn now.
Ok I might sound a little depressed, but I’ll be fine after a goodnight sleep. Thanks a lot to M for cheering me up when I was down, thanks to CK for being a driver for today, thanks to KM for his concern, thanks to WY for her help although she might not even know what has happened until she reads this, and thanks to S for listening to my grumblings and the oil well that she has promised.
